Abstract

Both the female and the male, fertility is an inherited trait subject to continuous influence of environmental factors. A male reproductive capacity is judged by the number of females who remained pregnant after sowing, or on the number of mating required to achieve fertilization. A male reproductive capacity is evaluated after the semen quality also. The purpose of this paper is assessing the quantity and quality of semen from three genetic types of boars used in place of the father of commercial hybrid. Tests conducted reveal the existence of statistically significant differences between the averages of analyze traits.
